Farm / Garden Overview Tour
  • ​As the students toured the farm, they were given fresh produce from the varied garden sections.
  • Each student selected various seedlings and were given packets of vegetable seeds to start a garden of their own.
    • They filled a cup 3/4 full of miracle gro ground soil and ground seedlings from the garden were put in their cup. ​

Picking String Beans and Peppers

During the students visit, they learned when and how to pick the various types of String Beans and Peppers. They were given the opportunity to enjoy some of the fresh produce we just picked.

Afterwards, the students helped with garden maintenance.

When to Pick Corn and Cantaloupe

The students learned to identify when corn and cantaloupe are ripe and ready to pick. Several students picked corn. We also enjoyed ripe cherry tomatoes.

Tomato and Cucumber Picking / Tasting
The students will get the opportunity to enjoy a variety of different types of tomatoes and cucumbers.
  • Purple, Lemon, Pink, Indigo, Cherry, other types of tomatoes
  • Regular, White, Straight Eight, and Pickle Cucumbers
Taste testing with a little fresh green or purple basil.
