Our goal is to not only to grow delicious fruits and vegetables but to show / education the local community on how they may grow and sustain a garden for themselves. This little urban farm therefore seeks to partner with various groups to educate our youth and adults on various garden methods and expose them to conventional and less conventional various of fruits and veggies such as white eggplant; pear, purple, lemon, and black tomatoes; white and lemon cucumbers; blue potatoes; and more.
The students will get the opportunity to learn about caring for various plants from seedling to harvest and the health benefits that can be gained from consuming a variety of fruits, veggies, and cooking herbs. As well as getting the chance to care for and consume pesticide free produce. Much of the harvested produce will be given to seniors as well as need base organizations and individuals and those making donations to help the farm to continue to sustain itself.
I use a lot of recycled materials and physical effort. It does not have to be perfect but functional.
